Its elevated position offers panoramic views, stretching across the Clevedon valley to the serene coastline of the Hauraki Gulf. Formerly a beloved landmark in Parnell and part of the historic Blind Institute, La Maison villa was meticulously relocated, piece by piece, to its new and stunning location.
In reimagining La Maison, our goal was to preserve its rich architectural heritage while seamlessly blending in modern elements and an eclectic flair. The result is a unique fusion of timeless elegance/charm and contemporary style.
Today, La Maison stands as a premier destination for unforgettable weddings and events. In a “Moment of Bravery,” we have opened our doors to host an exclusive number of these special occasions, inviting you to experience the magic and grandeur of this extraordinary venue.
Our Story
La Maison is the realization of a dream by founders Megan McQuinn and Ben Calway. Driven by our professional and personal experiences, we chose to leave the city behind and start a new chapter in Clevedon with our four children. What began as an aspiration has, through unwavering dedication and hard work, blossomed into the stunning property that La Maison is today.
Our journey to create La Maison has been a marathon, not a sprint requiring patience, persistence, and passion. But the vision we once held is now a reality, and we couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved together as a family. Now, we are delighted to share La Maison with couples and groups seeking a unique, secluded venue to celebrate their Wedding Day or special events.

I was fortunate to grow up on Northland’s picturesque peninsula, where my childhood was framed by summers spent at stunning coastal bays and pristine white sand beaches.
A nurturer by nature, my early career in nursing helped shape my core values that guide me today—family, friendships, hard work, and a deep passion for helping others.
My leadership and business acumen soon emerged, leading me to take a bold step into the world of health technology, where I continue to thrive.
Travel has been a constant source of inspiration in my life, enriched with diverse experiences which has led to an obsession with collecting unique and eclectic furnishings from around the globe.
